Physical Education Center

 

 

The Center for Physical Education, founded in the year of 1997, is located on 50-hectare sports park near Ji-Hsueh Gate of the University. The office is composed of one director, three staffs, two janitors, three contracted assistants as well as eleven contract instructors in physical education who lend their assistances to administration and teachings of this office.

The goal of the center is to provide our students, faculty and community members with information about physical education as well as access to athletic facilities and activities. We aim to provide information regarding the value and importance of physical education, increase students’ physical feasibility and the development and improvement of athletic skills, and extend services to community without.

Areas of Involvement:

1. In order to cultivate students’ regular exercise routines, we have established eight different support areas that are respectively in charge of administration, human resources planning, physical education (PE), PE activities, facility management, university sports team training, student athletic clubs, and athletic extension activities.

2. At the campus sports park, the university maintains an outstanding variety of sports facilities. For further information, please refer to our Website.

3. Entrusted by the Ministry of Education, we have undertaken special projects such as the Eastern Taiwan Local Sports Science Research Center, the Eastern Taiwan Water Sports Promotion Center, and the Core East Institute of the 2010 Summer PE Camps for Students.

4. Through the combination of university sports teams and student athletic clubs, we are able to hold a variety of sports games and activities, such as the Duathlon Competition, the Campus Road Race, the University Annual Celebration Sports Days, Water Sports Days, Dong Hwa Cup National Triathlon Competitions for High Schools and Universities, the Gorge Adventure Guide Program, the East Coast Ocean Canoeing Camp, the Swimming Program, the Physical and Spiritual Health Program for Faculty, etc.
